Crete Wild Flower Calendar
As the months on Crete unfold, we are treated to a vast
and varied display of flowers. These pages give a feel for the species you might see, whenever you visit. Most were photographed between 2007 and 2009, but these are a good guide for any year, though of course the weather can bring subtle changes between years.
As the months pass, we
will be adding photos and short descriptions of the species
we find on our outings into the countryside – from the
beach to the high mountain. This work needs time and patience
and we hope that you will call back occasionally or often
to see what we have discovered.
Note:
Each month has a set of image thumbnails. Just click on the
thumbnails for a larger version of the photo (a few late additions excepted). You can then
see the next image in the series by either rolling the mouse
pointer to the right of the image (left of the photo to go
back), or alternatively, using the right & left arrow
keys.

Most of the images on this website are available for purchase as high quality art prints. Printed on Schoellershammer watercolour art paper or gloss photo paper, using archive quality inks, guaranteed for 200 years, these prints and posters are offered exclusively through the Flowers of Crete website and can be ordered by contacting Julia directly at julia@flowersofcrete.info. Prices start at only 15 euros for a mounted gloss photo. Posters of Julia's artwork can also be commissioned - please ask for details. |
